The Lionheart Brothers

Cover-Front-12[1]Named after a book by Swedish children’s author Astrid Lindgren The Lionheart Brothers’ summery sounds have been garnering rave reviews in the UK recently; everyone from Drowned In Sound to The Guardian newspaper jumping on the hype bandwagon. Despite this encouragement they are still largely unknown, even in Norway, but their ear for an infectious melody will surely find them the following they deserve sooner rather than later.

Recent release Dizzy Kiss is actually their second full album, but it is essentially acting as their mission statement abroad, and what a statement it is. From the Brian Wilson yearning of ‘To Make You Love Me’, through the psych rock of opener ‘Hero Anthem’, the irresistible melody of ’50 Souls And A Disco Bowl’, to the SoCal cool of album highlight ‘Down At My Place’ The Lionheart Brothers sound like a shogezing Beach Boys, and are very, very good.
