Quart Festival Cancelled

Norway’s biggest music festival, due to take place in Kristiansand at the beginning of July, has been cancelled by the organisers, who have declared themselves bankrupt citing poor ticket sales and a quart[1]lack of headliners. Whether or not this means the end for the festival which was first held in 1992 is unclear, but numerous Norwegian bands, including Ane Brun, Casiokids, Kaizers Orchestra, Kings of Convenience, The Lionheart Brothers and a returning Röyksopp, are now left with a gaping hole in their summer calendars. Doubtless Quart  has suffered from the ascent of the recently founded Hove Festival, which boasts a more unique location and diverse lineup, and the increasing profile of Øya Festival, which acts as a platform for smaller and more innovative bands.
